10 Most Shared Viral Videos Of 2012

By November 26, 2012

2012 was for sure a GREAT year when it came to viral videos. In fact it was so great that I didn’t even mind the constant sharing, parody videos and sharing of the parody videos. Here’s a look at the 10 most shared videos of the year. I’m thinking any videos released in December don’t stand a chance of out-viraling (new word alert!) these!

10. Arrested Drunk Guy Sings Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

I’m pretty sure the only time anyone attempts to sing this song is when their inebriated…right? Well this guy one ups us all and sings it while getting arrested. Over 1 million people shared this video of Robert Wilkinson air-drumming himself into internet infamy.

9. Please Move The Deer Crossing

You gotta feel a little bad for this poor lady. I mean not so bad that you don’t giggle at her colossal misunderstanding. It’s pretty funny. In fact, 1.5 million people thought it was worth sharing this laugh with their friends. Deers are still angry that all of the deer crossings are in busy areas.

8. P & G – Thank You Mama

This tearjerker of a commercial has been shared 2 million+ times. Even more impressive?  It has also produced over 100 kabillion gallons of tears.

7. Gotye- Somebody That I Used To Know

This innovative video was shared over 17 million times! No wonder I’m finally sick of this song I used to love.

6. Catch The Ice Dude

1.5 million people didn’t feel at all bad about sharing this man’s epic fail. And why should they? His own real life friends didn’t feel bad about sharing the video with the world in the first place!

5. Carly Rae Jepsen- Call Me Maybe

I’m pretty sure if we counted all the covers and parodies of this video it would top the list!

4. Opera Singers Charlotte And Jonathan On Britain’s Got Talent

Britain’s Got Talent sure does make some awesomely heartwarming viral stars! First Susan Boyle and now BFF Jonathan and Charlotte get their moment. 1.1 million people were inspired enough to share their story. Awwwww-some.

3. A Dramatic Surprise On A Quiet Square

Somewhere in a small town in Belgium…something amazing happened that led to 4 million shares. Kudos TNT! You made a rad ad!

2. Psy-Gangnam Style

It should be no surprise to see Gangnam Style on the list with over 29 million shares. It also is the most viewed YouTube video of all time, just recently overtaking The Bieb’s  Baby with 805 million views. Bieber just can’t compete with the horse riding dance move. N one can.

1. KONY 2012

Not only is this the most shared video of 2012, it’s the most shared video of all time, taking only 6 days to reach 100 million shares. Unfortunately the video’s creator, Jason Russell, made news himself when he was arrested shortly after the video’s release because he was found running around naked and drunk. Of course his drunken rampage was also caught on tape. I think that may have been the video I shared the most in 2012.
