So, if you’re on the internet a lot, you’re pretty much using Google constantly. I use it primarily for weird image searches and spellcheck. But while we’re all busy using it to do some ‘research’ or cyber-stalking the classmate you had a crush on in high school, you might be missing all the cool little things Google creates to keep us all entertained. Because if there’s one thing the internt is lacking, it’s dumb entertainment! Here’s 8 of the coolest Google tricks ever!
Type ‘zerg rush’ into the search window. Os will start to fall. Your mission is to destroy them before they take down your search results page. It is literally the most simplistic game ever, yet for some reason you won’t be able to stop playing. DAMN YOU INTERNET!
This feature was SO RAD that Google actually permanently made it a feature on Google Earth. Click on tools> enter flight simulator. Begin flying around the earth. Feel a sense of accomplishment without technically leaving your house. Yay!
Directions To Mordor
Go into Google Maps and get walking directions from The Shire to Mordor. If I was Frodo I would’ve seen this and been like okay.. I’ll just stay home and watch a Buffy marathon on Netflix. On a sidenote Boromir can walk into my Mordor any day. WHA???
Type ‘Google Pond’ in the search window and things get all liquid-like. It’s very soothing in a zen sort of way. ‘Namaste, bitches!’ –Jesse Pinkman after doing this trick.
Type ‘do a barrel roll’ into the search bar. It’s what Peppy Hare demands of you. Also I highly recommend taking a dramamine first. It actually gave me a little case of motion sickness.
The Loneliest Number
Awww this is so ‘Forever Alone’. Type in the “the loneliest number” you’ll get the answer..one. Scientific proof that only other people can make you happy. JK!
Go to Google Translate and set the translator to translate English to German. Copy + paste the following into the translate box: pv zk pv pv zk pv zk kz zk pv pv pv zk pv zk zk kkkkkk bsch. Click listen. Kick it old school.
I’m Feeling Doodley
If you go to press ‘I’m feeling lucky’ with no text in the search box, you’ll get a bunch of new options, including ‘I’m feeling Doodley’, where you can see every Google doodle logo ever! I’d like to thank Google for instantly eliminating all the time they’ve saved me by producing so many addictive tricks. I really need that sarcasm font. Get on it science!
