A New Petition Has Been Created For a Netflix Show with Thor and Darryl

By September 1, 2016

In case you missed it, this past weekend Marvel finally revealed their Team Thor short video that they premiered at San Diego Comic-Con this year, which shows Thor going to live in Australia after Age of Ultron with his flat mate named Darryl, while also failing to get ahold of Captain America or Iron Man during Civil War.

Oh, and he also revealed his wall of clues that he’s assembled while trying to learn the truth behind the Infinity Stones.

For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, and for context’s sake, check it out below:

Reception towards the fun, playful twist on the Thor character has been overwhelmingly positive as well, and it looks like some fans have loved the video so much that they decided to try and get Marvel to create a Netflix show revolving solely around Thor and Darryl living in Australia together. How? Through a petition, of course.

Ty Schmidt started the campaign on Change.org recently, and while it’s number of supporters are surprisingly low right now, Schmidt says he was inspired to start it after watching the video and he, “went into the comment section, and stumbled upon a comment that said “Can we start a petition for this to be a Netflix Series”, and I thought to myself “I want this to be a thing too.” And here we are.”

Here we are indeed. Listen, will this happen? No. But is it fun to talk about and try to convince Marvel to at least make more stuff like this, including a possible series of one-offs featuring Thor and Darryl leading up to the release of Ragnarok next year? You bet your ass it is.

Thor: Ragnarok is set to hit theatres on November 3rd, 2017.
