ABC Moving Forward with ‘Marvel’s Most Wanted’ Pilot

By January 9, 2016

ABC’s Agents of SHIELD already has one successful spinoff in Agent Carter, so why not go for two? As announced today by ABC President Paul Lee at the TCA press tour (via IGN), ABC has ordered to pilot a new spinoff entitled Marvel’s Most Wanted. This long-rumored series will star Adrianne Palicki (Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird) and Nick Blood (Lance Hunter), with production beginning soon.

ABC had previously announced they would not be going forward with this series back in May, but apparently they’ve changed their minds.

“We’re absolutely doing that one. I just announced that we’re going to pilot on Marvel’s Most Wanted, which is a spinoff.”

Yeah, that’s what I just said.

“We love the script,” he said. “We think it’s going to be great. We’re doing that in the next few months.”

Agents of SHIELD is currently on winter break, with Agent Carter‘s season 2 premiering on January 19th. No word yet on when Marvel’s Most Wanted would premiere (should it make it past the pilot phase), but it seems like some time during SHIELD‘s season 4 would be a good bet. The show will be produced by SHIELD producers Jeff Bell and Paul Zbyszewski, with Marvel’s head of TV Jeph Loeb executive producing.

The big question: when will this series take place? Concurrent with Agents of SHIELD? Or will it detail Bobbi and Lance’s past adventures, back during their ill-fated marriage? I think that would be my personal preference, but given how well Palicki and Blood work together, I’m sure whatever they decide will be plenty entertaining.
