Adult Swim’s “RickAndMortyRickstaverse” Instagram Offers Hours Of Exploration (LITERALLY)

By July 24, 2015

Leave it to Adult Swim to once again beat everyone to the “This is why we’re better than you” punch with their brilliant campaign under the guise of a game for season 2 of their animated series, “Rick and Morty.”

But first, a brief catch up for those of you not in the “R and M” know, courtesy of Adult Swim:

Created and exec produced by Dan Harmon (“Community”) and Justin Roiland, Rick Sanchez (Roiland) is still living with his daughter Beth’s (Sarah Chalke, “Scrubs”) family and causing more trouble than ever. This season the rest of the family, his son-in-law Jerry (Chris Parnell, “SNL” “Archer”), granddaughter Summer (Spencer Grammer, “Greek”) and grandson Morty (also voiced by Roiland) are dragged into Rick’s intergalactic adventures, as he faces new threats and mysteries of his secret past are revealed. Can the family survive Rick’s insanity and all the chaos the universe throws at them?

And now, back to the goodness!

In the RickAndMortyRickstaverse, fans of all levels can traverse EIGHTY different Instagram accounts that include:

  • 11 planets to explore (eight at launch, three to be revealed during season two)
  • 1000+ high resolution images
  • Eight mini-comics
  • Interactive collectibles with 18 different video outcomes

I know it’s a lot to take in all at once, so I’ll let Rick and Morty give you a quick walkthrough.

I can tell you right now, my phone was at 90% when I started messing around with it and finally stopped when I got the “10%” warning.

SO much fun stuff to check out and a GREAT way for new fans to catch up on what they’ve missed (while checking out season one on Hulu) before the season 2 premiere July 26th (this Sunday) on Adult Swim.
