‘Agent Carter’ Season 2 Gets Two Returning Characters

By July 2, 2015

With news having recently come down that both of Marvel’s ABC TV shows — “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “Agent Carter” — had been renewed for new seasons this year, it was only natural that we would begin hearing some preliminary casting news alongside the main players of each show. Now, in the latter’s case, we have two returning names we can add to the cast list alongside Hayley Atwell’s return as Peggy Carter.

According to Entertainment Weekly, James D’Arcy will return as Edwin Jarvis, the trusted butler of the Stark family, and Enver Gjokaj will return as Daniel Sousa, a fellow agent with Carter in the S.H.I.E.L.D. forerunner, the Strategic Scientific Reserve (or S.S.R.). While it’s not exactly certain at this stage exactly what role they’ll be playing in Peggy’s new adventures, their additions to the cast for the second season should prove very interesting, especially in Jarvis’ case, given what happened near the end of the 8-episode first season.

EW also speculates that announcements will be coming soon concerning actors Chad Michael Murray (who played S.S.R. agent Jack Thompson), Bridget Regan (Dottie Underwood), and Lyndsy Fonseca (Angie Martinelli), but nothing about these performers has been confirmed. It seems likely that, given our current proximity toward Comic Con in San Diego, that Marvel Television will reserve some announcements for their upcoming shows on both ABC and Netflix for that event. Not long ago, it was also announced that the popular Secret Warriors series from Marvel would be partially adapted in the upcoming third season of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” which will likely expand the role of the show as Marvel prepares the Inhumans film which is scheduled for release in 2019.
