‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Set Videos Pit Quake Against Ghost Rider

By August 10, 2016

Considering Marvel Studio’s seemingly complete lack of interest with the show now, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. managed to pull off a fairly exciting announcement nonetheless at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con when they confirmed that the upcoming fourth season would feature the introduction of Ghost Rider into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, finally. Though, it should be noted that this won’t be the Johnny Blaze version of the character, but instead the Robbie Reyes iteration, with his iconic muscle car and all.

Not much is known about the character’s role in the new season of the show, though he’s clearly being used as the focal point of all of the season’s marketing strategies right now, which isn’t all that surprising to be completely frank.

In two new set videos from the upcoming season as well, we get some brief looks at what appears to be Chloe Bennet’s Quake/Daisy Johnson taking on Gabriel Luna’s Reyes, or at the very least, riding on top of his muscle car at high speeds (via MCUExchange):

It’s hard to tell in the videos if it’s actually Luna doing the driving or not, though I’d be legitimately surprised if they didn’t have a professional driver doing the driving while Bennet was on top of the car. With her newfound desire to help those in need though, it looks like Quake is going to cross paths with Reyes fairly early on in the season, and it doesn’t look like its going to be a very happy meeting between the two characters.

We still have no idea what Reyes is going to look like in the new season, but considering how Agents has handled some of its CGI-heavy characters before, as well as ABC’s limited VFX budget, I guess the only thing we can really hope for is that he won’t end up being just a hothead driver who only transforms into a fiery-skulled badass two or three times throughout the season, which at this point, is a legitimate concern.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s fourth season is set to premiere on ABC on September 30th.

Loved Last Season (Hell I’ve loved Every Episode So Far) so hopefully the writing & directing stay on point; because they already have an Amazing Cast! Just wish the @Marvel staff at their #SDCC Booth had been either Better trained or more honest. Tried to get in on the #AoS Cast Signing Lottery. Staff told Me it was over 7 minutes after it was suppose to start. Hear similar stories from others i think the staff was trading or selling the lottery wristbands!!!
