In case you didn’t already know at this point, the cast for American Gods is shaping up to be one of the best on television right now. The new Neil Gaiman adaptation from Bryan Fuller and Michael Green has landed some serious power players in a strong ensemble so far, including Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday, Gillian Anderson as Media, Crispin Glover, Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, and many, many more.

During the San Diego Comic-Con panel for the series though, the show’s creative team announced yet another new talented star to be joining the cast, and surprise! It’s a Pushing Daisies reunion folks!

Kristin Chenoweth will reportedly be playing Easter in the show, one of the many old gods fighting to keep their place against the new deities. The actress reportedly exlaimed, “I’m so excited to be reunited with my Bryan Fuller!” when she was brought out halfway through the panel, after Chenoweth and Fuller worked together on his short-lived but magical series, Pushing Daisies, for which Chenoweth won an Emmy for her work in.

The series, based on the novel by Gaiman, follows ex-con Shadow Moon who gets brought on to be the bodyguard for a con man named Mr. Wednesday, who in all actuality is one of the old gods, traveling across country to band together the fellow old gods as they prepare for a battle against the new deities.

In addition to Pushing Daisies and now American Gods, Chenoweth has had a solid TV and film career up until this point, along with being a Broadway star in her own right as well. With all of the differing personalities in this series now though, and the creative talent going behind it, I don’t care how repetitive I might sound when I say that American Gods is setting itself up to be some serious can’t-miss television next year.

That’s not all either, as Starz has also released the very first live-action trailer for American Gods online today, and it’s everything I ever wanted it to be:

So… yeah. How long do I have to wait for this again?

American Gods is set to premiere in 2017 on Starz.
