Though I consider myself a huge fan of 2004’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, I’m embarrassed to admit that I still haven’t seen Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie. Utilizing unused footage, alternate takes, and deleted scenes from the first film, this quasi-sequel sees Ron and the Channel 4 News Team hunting down a bank robbing gang called The Alarm Clock, and it sounds pretty nuts.
I never thought I’d say this, but Entertainment Tonight actually has something interesting that I want to watch. It’s a clip from Wake Up, Ron Burgundy, and features Ron hilariously threatening an elderly citizen of San Diego. Watch it below:
Compelling and rich.
The reason ET is promoting that video is because Paramount is releasing a Superticket for Anchorman 2 (which we’ve written about before) that will allow fans to see the film two days earlier than its release date of December 18th. In a move that should surprise absolutely no one, Will Ferrell has donned the RB costume once more and recorded a video to give fans a little incentive to order the Superticket. Watch below and see what I mean:
Because this Anchorman publicity train will apparently keep on rolling all the way up until the day of the release, Burgundy will co-host ESPN’s SportsCenter this Thursday, December 5th. He interviewed Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and a small sample of that interview can be seen below (thanks to FirstShowing for the heads up on this one):
Think we’re done? Not quite yet. Remember that scotchy, scotch scotch ice cream that Ben & Jerry’s released? That’s just butterscotch flavored, but if you’re in the market for something a bit harder, Riviera Imports has just what you’re looking for: Anchorman-themed scotch called “Great Odin’s Raven!” complete with your favorite news man’s initials on the bottle. There’s no info yet about availability or price, but it seems like a must-have item for you or your Anchorman-loving friends. Christmas is just around the corner, and don’t forget (as if Paramount would let you): the sequel hits theaters on December 18th.
(And don’t forget to check out my recap of the Anchorman Live Read held here in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago.)
