Anna Kendrick to Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ for the First Time in April, Seth Rogen Returns Too

By March 19, 2014

With stand-up comedian Louis C.K. set to host “Saturday Night Live” on March 29th before his hit FX comedy series “Louie” returns for its fourth season on May 5th, it’s time to look ahead to April, and two hosts for a couple spring episodes have just been revealed.

NBC has announced that Pitch Perfect star and surprising chart-topping singer Anna Kendrick will make her hosting debut in Studio 8H on April 5th. She’ll be joined by musical guest Pharrell, who will likely perform his Oscar-nominated original song “Happy” from Despicable Me 2.

Kendrick has been a favorite choice to host for awhile, and if you follow her Twitter feed, it’s easy to see why fans have been clamoring for her to hit up “SNL.” Especially when she posts gems like this:

So follow Anna Kendrick on Twitter if you want more of that goodness, and she’s bound to post some behind the scenes pictures once she’s over at 30 Rock in New York.

In addition, Seth Rogen will be returning to “SNL” to host for his third time, and musician Ed Sheeran will be joining him this time. The last time Rogen hosted was in 2009, so it’s been five years since he’s gotten together with the late night sketch cast, and there’s plenty of new faces this time. The last time Rogen stopped by “SNL” it resulted in his appearing in one of The Lonely Island’s music videos. If you haven’t seen it, just watch:

Rogen’s comedic background has made for a fun show in the past, and we’re really excited that he’s taking the time to come back, even though he’s busier than ever. Rogen has Neighbors coming out this summer, an animated film called Sausage Party in production, a developing film about the console war between Sega and Nintendo, an AMC series adaptation of the comic book “Preacher,” and he’s also helping support research to cure Alzheimer’s disease.

Oh, and following all the buzz around “True Detective” on HBO, Rogen also put together this funny little video with Jimmy Kimmel. Hopefully “SNL” comes up with some sketches that are just as funny as this:

We’ll definitely have a recap of both “SNL” episodes with Anna Kendrick and Seth Rogen, so stay tuned.
