The new Terminator film was said to be called Terminator: Genesis, but that was either never correct or it’s been tweaked slightly. Star Arnold Schwarzenegger posted a photo on his Instagram account of him sitting in a director’s chair on the set of the film, and he revealed the official title for the movie: Terminator Genisys.
Here’s his caption:
Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I’ll be back.
It’s also worth pointing out that there is now an official Terminator Twitter account, as well as an official Instagram account for the movie. Colin Trevorrow made a big splash online by posting all sorts of photos from the set of Jurassic World, but since that project wrapped yesterday, I was wondering if another movie would step in to take its place. Terminator Genisys just wrapped, so it doesn’t seem like this will be the one, unless they start posting delayed photos that were taken during filming.
So let’s start speculating, shall we? What do you think Genisys could be? It sounds a bit like the modern day version of Cyberdyne Systems, the company that was ultimately responsible for creating Skynet. And since we know that Miles Dyson (the guy who actually created Skynet in T2) has a son, and his son is in this movie, maybe it’s all connected somehow?
