‘Arrow’ Season 4 Trailer Features the Return of Some Familiar Faces

By September 4, 2015

Season 3 of the CW’s Arrow let fans down in more ways than one. Coming off of one of the best seasons of any superhero TV show ever, the series had more momentum going for it than it could have asked for, and at the beginning, season 3 showed more promise than any of its predecessors. Unfortunately, what followed was mostly uneven, soap opera storytelling that left fans with a sour taste in their mouths, and hoping for some possible redemption in the follow-up season.

Well, it looks like we might just be getting that. From the moment news about the show’s upcoming fourth season began to drop, it was clear that this would be the most different season yet. Whether it be Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) new suit, his finally stable, drama-free relationship with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), or the fact that he’ll finally be taking on the mantle of The Green Arrow – it looks like the creative team are taking all of their fans’ criticisms to heart, and running with it.

The moment all Arrow fans have been waiting for is finally here too. The first official trailer for season 4 has been released online and offers a detailed glimpse at what we can expect from the new season. Check it out below:

The trailer of course features looks at Oliver and Felicity’s life after he let the Arrow die at the end of the last season, but it looks like she might be the one to convince him to come back after all, judging by the way she unveiled the new suit. The trailer also showed new glimpses at this season’s big bad, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) who looks like a much more corporate, and elusively dangerous villain than Oliver has ever faced before. Whether or not he’ll be able to live up to the quality left by Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett) in the second season though, will have to wait to be seen.

However, the trailer also featured new glimpses at Team Arrow this season, including Diggle’s fancy new helmet. But maybe the two shots that will make fans most excited was the quick glimpse of John Constantine (Matt Ryan) making his guest appearance, and of course, the resurrection of Sara Lance (Caity Lotz). So if this trailer made at least one thing certain – it looks like Arrow season 4 will be unlike anything they’ve done yet.

Season 4 of Arrow is set to premiere on the CW on Wednesday, October 7th.
