‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Will Be Split Into Two Films in 2018 & 2019

So here’s a big piece of news from Marvel’s announcement this morning: it turns out that the newly-titled Avengers: Infinity War will actually be broken up into two parts after all. This rumor was floating around a little while back, but we didn’t give it much credence: why would Marvel need to break a story into two parts? But Kevin Feige confirmed it himself at the presentation this morning:

Wow. So this movie must be really huge, and it’ll be interesting to see who actually appears in it, considering the actors’ contracts are all at various points of soon-to-be-expiration with the studio. Will some people sit out Infinity War Part 1 only to pop up in Infinity War Part 2? Because the film is clearly plotted as two movies, are some of the actors contractually beholden to appear in both parts because it’s a continuation of the same story? What will the main Avengers roster even look like by the time we get to that point? Time will tell, but if this image from the presentation is any indication, it appears that a massive battle is finally going to happen:

What do you think? Is this an answer to DC’s decision to split Justice League into two movies, or do you think Marvel had this planned out all along? (I’d say the latter.) Does this mean that all future “team-up” movies are now going to be split in two? I’m guessing yes, because if Avengers & Justice League don’t set the precedent, nothing will.
