Ever since this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, DC and Warner Bros. have been on a streak of quality promotion for their future films. Whether it be the new trailers for both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad — after a long train of next-to-nothing marketing for either, DC has finally begun to push their films the right amount, and it doesn’t look like they’re planning on slowing down any time soon.
Following the okay (?) Batman v Superman Entertainment Weekly cover that was released a few weeks back, the new official BvS cover of Empire Magazine has been revealed, and this time Ben Affleck’s Batman isn’t standing against a pure white background. Something that will likely make the die-hard comic book fans out there, at least, slightly happier.
Check out the cover below:
“Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.”
Like most of the promotional images and stills released from the film so far, it features Batman standing on one-half of the cover, while Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel shares the other half. In terms of magazine covers for the movie though, this is probably the best that’s been released so far. The colors actually blend well together, and while Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman is nowhere to be seen, the characters are posed well and comic book fans should react to this cover better than they have to others in the past.
The film continues to be promoted as possibly the largest comic book film to date, and judging from the amount of destruction and spectacle featured in the Comic-Con trailer alone, it looks like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actually has the potential to live up to its own hype. Something many comic book films as of late have failed to do.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit theatres nationwide on March 25th, 2016!
