Following yesterday’s first teaser trailer, which served more as an announcement of the first theatrical trailer yesterday, Disney has officially unveiled its first look at next year’s live-action adaptation/reimagining of Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Ewan McGregor, Josh Gad, Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen, and more.

Unlike all of Disney’s other live-action adaptations of recent memory, Beauty and the Beast is not only shaping up to be one of its more promising, but also one of its most faithful as well, keeping both the romantic and full on musical elements as the 1990s Academy Award-nominated film.

Without any further ado as well, check out the first trailer below:

From the very beginning, the casting of Emma Watson as Belle has been an inspired choice, in line with both the actresses’ most well-known role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films and her personality off the big screen as well. With just a little less than a year to go until the film’s theatrical release, the trailer wisely doesn’t reveal much, including the music set to be featured throughout or even a look at Dan Stevens’ iteration of The Beast.

Nonetheless, the live-action adaptation seems just as magical, romantic, and mysterious as the animated film, high praise considering it’s not only my favorite Disney film as well, but also one of my favorite films of all time. With a cast so good that you think you might be dreaming as well, Beauty and the Beast is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of next year. Count me in.

Beauty and the Beast is set to hit theatres on March 17th, 2017.
