The Raid 2 Berandal 1

If you’re an action movie or martial arts movie fan and The Raid 2: Berandal isn’t already on your must-see list of 2014, this brand new teaser trailer will put a chalk outline around your previous list and absolutely decimate it. The sequel to 2012’s The Raid: Redemption picks up two hours after the last film ended, but instead of playing out essentially in real time, this movie will span about four years and feature a bunch of new characters as Rama (Iko Uwais) goes undercover to infiltrate the ranks of a brutal Jakarta crime syndicate. The first movie was contained to one building; this one’s taking the action to the streets.

Twitchfilm premiered the teaser (which makes sense, considering Twitch founder Todd Brown is a producer on the movie), so turn up your speakers and prepare to get excited for even more kick-ass action than the first film delivered:

The Raid 2: Berandal will get a release in the U.S. from Sony Pictures Classics. No release date has officially been set yet, but I’ve heard whispers that we could see it as soon as March. Trust me, this is going to be a must-see for action movie fans. Here’s my interview with Evans for the original Raid film at Sundance from 2012:
