The word “epic” gets tossed around far too often when it comes to blockbusters these days. (Hell, there’s even a DreamWorks animated movie that has the word Epic as a freakin’ title coming out soon.) That being said, if there’s one movie coming out this year that unquestionably deserves that adjective, it’s Guillermo del Toro’s insane-looking robots vs. monsters movie Pacific Rim.

We saw a good first look at some of the footage for this at Comic-Con last summer, but more recently at WonderCon, del Toro released a sizzle reel/trailer that gives a great representation of the human element of the movie along with some truly awesome moments of carnage, with clashing robot steel and monster flesh. Now, thanks to YouTube, that footage is legally online for all to see, so feast your eyes on it below and let us know what you think about it in the comments.

(Bonus points for including more footage of Charlie Day. He makes every project better.)
