While fans and critics still argue over Batman v Superman, Marvel’s latest offering is getting ready to take over the box office.

Captain America: Civil War has been eagerly anticipated ever since Kevin Feige announced it way back in 2014 and as the follow-up to the immensely successful Winter Soldier, which many argue is the best thing Marvel Studios has done so far, and the live-action adaptation of one of Marvel’s most popular comic book events, Civil War has a lot riding on it.

Given how the comic book played out, fans are excited/nervous to see just how faithful this adaptation really is and Marvel’s promised us a “game changer” with this one, making it possibly the most heavily-hyped film they’ve done since the first Avengers.

Marvel screened the film last night for several members of the press, including our Managing Editor, Alex Welch, and…well…I’ll just let the tweets speak for themselves:

I think I might have to see this one.

Aside from the fact that the film itself is receiving such glowing praise, the reaction to both Black Panther and Spider-man is very encouraging and it looks like they’re the kind of standout characters that fans everywhere were hoping they’d end up being. It’s also nice to hear that the climactic battle will be as great a visual spectacle as it should be. I mean, this is Civil War, after all.

If anything has to live up to the hype it’s the actual, you know, civil war and while there have been a few negative remarks (mostly just to troll fans) concerning individual moments in the film, everyone seems to at least agree that as a whole – the movie is very well done. So…get excited, people, in case you weren’t already.

Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johannson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Olson, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Emily VanCamp, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo, and William Hurt. It opens nationwide on May 6th.
