Daisy Ridley’s ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Audition Revealed

By March 29, 2016

Going from unknown to full fledged movie star, Daisy Ridley became the breakout star of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens last year, as fans not only fell in love with her onscreen, but also with Rey, the first female Jedi in the Star Wars franchise. Not to mention the fact that “Rey’s Theme” is easily the standout track on the soundtrack as well.

In anticipation of the upcoming blu ray release of the film as well, Star Wars UK has revealed a new clip from the upcoming home video release, which includes our first look at Ridley’s original audition for the film. Spoiler alert: Prepare to be blown away yet again.

Watching this, it’s not hard to see why Abrams and co. decided to cast her out of probably thousands of other actresses for the role. The fact that she was a complete unknown when she was cast as well, just allowed for the revelation to be all that more extraordinary.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens blu ray will be released on April 5th.
