The war between Marvel Entertainment and DC Comics is really heating up on television with more than a dozen different series originating from their comic book pages.
And soon there will be yet another one. This time from DC … and we don’t know quite what it is.
DC president Geoff Johns took to Twitter on New Year’s Eve to not only celebrate some of his company’s current television successes like The Flash, Arrow, Gotham and Supergirl – but also something new, sharing only that it will be “announced soon.”

If anyone would like to speculate on what that new series could be, Cinema Blend says good luck.
It’s too big of a job to try and narrow down the dozens upon dozens of different characters this potential show would focus on, but there are some options.
The prospects for this project are next to limitless right now. It could aim for a more classic superhero format like The Flash, or it could try to take a different angle like Gotham or Powerless. There’s also no guarantee that this will focus on a DC superhero in the classic sense. Lucifer, for example, originates from the Vertigo imprint of comic books, which is owned by DC.
There’s also the possibility that the new show won’t be part of The CW schedule, where DC already has a number of shows. Instead, it could join Gotham and Lucifer on Fox, or possibly even travel to cable.
It’s not clear when we might hear about this new series, but if the show is now in development, it’s doubtful spring will start without us finding out.
