Last night’s episode of Game of Thrones was a doozy of an episode. Not only serving up one, but two medium-defining action set pieces and bringing about one of its most satisfying moments ever, in the death of Iwan Rheon’s Ramsay Bolton, finally. While that death would have been satisfying nonetheless, the fact that it came at the hands of Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), the girl that he had abused and tormented for months on end, as she turned his own hounds upon him, made it the kind of cheer-inducing moment that very few TV shows have ever been able to elicit from their viewers.
I’ll admit it, I actually screamed out loud in excitement because of it. However, Thrones villains aren’t ones to die without leaving behind some lasting, nasty effects, and right before he died, Ramsay uttered a line that made some Thrones theorists out there shiver in fear.
Facing Sansa Stark from behind bars, Ramsay said, “You can’t kill me, I’m part of you now,” which in addition to Sansa’s line from earlier in the season to Littlefinger (“I can still feel what he did, in my body, standing here, right now.”), has led many to believe that Sansa may in fact be pregnant with Ramsay’s baby. His last final piece of torment for the show’s heroes.
Now, it should be noted that there have been quite a few fan theories this season that have been proven wrong by the show, so before you let the tears of sorrow come for Lady Stark, make sure to take all of this with a grain of salt for the time being. With that being said though, it would certainly fit in line with the show’s previous twists and would just continue to cement its never-ending streak of misery for the Starks. The show’s metaphorical punching bag.
Here’s to hoping that the theories are wrong because about the last thing that Game of Thrones need is a child of Ramsay Bolton running around, especially with Sansa forced into being the mother. I feel like that may be a step too far for even this show to take. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Game of Thrones airs every Sunday night on HBO.
