‘Doctor Strange’ Has Been Done “Right” by Director Scott Derrickson, According to Stan Lee

By September 3, 2016

From the beginning, director Scott Derrickson has been an interesting choice to helm Marvel’s Doctor Strange film. An experienced horror filmmaker though, Derrickson has shown his talent for creating atmosphere onscreen better than most other filmmakers out there right now, and with Doctor Strange it looks like he’ll be bringing the mystical world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to life in some fairly spectacular ways.

It appears as though Derrickson has received some incredibly high praise already as well, just a few months ahead of the film’s November release, from none other than Stan Lee himself.

While appearing at Fan Expo Canada this week, Lee reportedly said that Derrickson has gotten Doctor Strange “right” onscreen, not an easy task for any filmmaker to accomplish:

Judging by the Comic-Con footage that shown in Hall H earlier this year, I’d say that Derrickson has done a Doctor Strange film better than most fans can probably imagine, and for a character who operates in worlds and ways that even the comics have a hard time explaining sometimes, that’s saying something. And for the record, we agree with you Stan, you would have made a killer Sorcerer Supreme onscreen.

Doctor Strange is set to hit theatres on November 4th.
