Microsoft’s annual E3 press conference was full of announcements and surprises, but one of the biggest pieces of news centered around Forza Horizon 3, the latest installment of the hugely popular racing franchise. This time, the action will be moving to Australia, allowing players to zip around the Outback in ridiculously expensive vehicles.

Check out the Forza Horizon 3 official E3 trailer below.

Forza Horizon 3 boasts more than 350 vehicles to choose from – including the debut of the 2017 Lamborghini Centenario. Microsoft also promises the largest open-world environments the series has ever offered, and Forza Horizon 3 will even offer a 4-player co-op campaign, a first for the franchise. You can check out those features in this extended gameplay demonstration from the E3 stage.

Forza Horizon 3 will be part of the “Xbox Play Anywhere” program – much like Gears of War 4 – which allows for cross-play between Xbox One and PC players, not to mention a cross-buy feature that allows the game to be purchased on a single platform and still enjoyed on another. In the video above, one of the onstage demonstrators is playing on the newly-announced Xbox One S, while two others are playing on high-end Windows 10 PC rigs, and the 4th player is on an Xbox One. Despite these differences, they’re able to interact seamlessly with each other – a pretty impressive achievement.

I’ve never been a huge fan of simulation racers, preferring the Burnout and Need For Speed franchises for their more accessible controls, but I’ll readily admit that Forza Horizon 3 looks like a tremendous amount of fun. The ability for new players to immediately sync with an existing campaign rather than being forced to back out to the game’s menu to begin a session is a huge convenience, and I love the look of the Australian environments. Maybe I’ll give this one a shot, after all…

Forza Horizon 3 launches on September 27, exclusively on Xbox One and Windows 10.
