EA unveiled the latest title in their Need For Speed franchise (Rivals) during their official E3 media briefing yesterday.
A collaboration between Ghost Games and Criterion Games, NFS: Rivals once again has that formula of the thrill of competition and serious rivalry between cops and racers. Players can choose to play as a cop or racer; each side having its own set of rules, high stakes challenges, rewards and of course, consequences (in the form of losing all their “Speed Points”) if busted.
Check out this tasty as eff “Cops Vs Rivals” trailer unveiled at yesterday’s E3 media briefing.
Utilizing the Frostbite 3 engine, NFS: Rivals will also contain the AllDrive system, erasing the line between single and multiplayer which will automatically connect gamers to their friend’s racing world which in turn will create a world where, much like a snowflake, no two events will ever be the same.
Before you ask, YES, NFS: Rivals will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this November 19th then later in the year for the highly anticipated Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
And THEN there’s the other highly anticipated NFS item, the live action film starring Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”), Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Imogen Poots (Fright Night, V For Vendetta) racing into theatres next year.
Penned by the brothers Gatins (George and John) and directed by Scott Waugh (Act Of Valor), Need For Speed: The Movie promises an “exciting return to the great car culture films of the 1960s and ’70s, tapping into what makes the American myth of the open road so appealing.”
Director Scott Waugh says that “The Need for Speed movie will embody everything that fans of action racing films want to see – hot cars, high stakes street racing and mind-blowing stunts. The adrenaline fueled story across America will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.”
ENOUGH TALKY! Check out this wee smackerel of serious high-octane goodness.
As I have a two-hour tour (a two-hour toooooour) with EA this afternoon AND have major lady-wood for racing games, best BELIEVE I’ma put my hands all over it. It’s so shiiiiny and full of vroom-vrooms.
Once again, Need For Speed: Rivals hits Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this November 19th and on Xbox One and PS4 later in the year.
Need For Speed: The Movie races into theatres March 14, 2014.
