Fantastic Fest Goes On Tour, Coming to a Drafthouse Near You

I haven’t had the chance to attend Fantastic Fest yet, but I’ve been longingly reading reports from the festival ever since its debut year in 2005. Situated in Austin, Texas, and taking place every September, Fantastic Fest is a film festival notable for featuring horror, fantasy, action, sci-fi, and more from the genres that have otherwise become marginalized in the movie world. Here’s the good news: if you’re like me and you haven’t had the chance to visit Austin for the fest, the Alamo Drafthouse is bringing some of this year’s entries to a theater near you.

This is the first time in the short history of the festival that audiences outside of Austin will be able to view some of the movies that played in the fest, and its inaugural year has some pretty impressive selections for fans to choose from.
