This year, the crossover between Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow believe it or not, isn’t the only big superhero team up event happening in the DC TV universe, with Legends set to finally assemble and introduce the full Justice Society of America in its second episode of the upcoming sophomore season. Suffice it to say, fan expectations are fairly high when it comes to the show’s iteration of the iconic, beloved comic book team.
After casting every member of the JSA as well, including Stargirl, Obsidian, Commander Steel, Vixen, and Hourman, the first official episode of the team itself in the season has been released.
Check it out for yourself below:
The official synopsis for the episode itself was released as well:
TEAM WORK — The Legends travel to Nazi-occupied Paris, but find themselves surrounded by the Justice Society of America (AKA JSA.) The Legends discover a time aberration that threatens the JSA, but the JSA wants nothing to do with them or their help. Nevertheless, the Legends force their way into the JSA’s mission to intercept and seize a mysterious package. Nate (Nick Zano) is desperate to prove that he should be part of the team, but he has a secret that he shares with his grandfather Commander Steel (Matthew MacCaull) that might make it difficult. Ray (Brandon Routh) is so focused on impressing the JSA, he puts himself and Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) in danger. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) has stepped in as the leader with Rip (Arthur Darvill) gone, but when decisions aren’t being made Sara (Caity Lotz) seems to be the one calling the shots. Dominic Purcell and Franz Drameh also star.
Like with most of the CW superhero shows, there’s obviously a lot of very tight leather on display here, but also like all of the other shows currently as well, the clear lack of shame when it comes to paying homage to the comic book costumes themselves, is such a joy to see.
Up until this point, Legends of Tomorrow hasn’t quite received the amount of attention or acclaim that The Flash or Arrow did in their earlier seasons, but hopefully with the appearances of both the Justice Society of America and the Legion of Doom this season, the spin-off series will be able to soar to entirely new heights.
Legends of Tomorrow season 2 will premiere on the CW on October 13th.
