First Official ‘Gotham’ Character Photos Released

By March 27, 2014

I’m not gonna lie, I am so dang excited for “Gotham”. I honestly can’t remember the last time I was this excited for a show to premiere. Here’s a “guilty pleasure” confession: I was a huge fan of “The OC”, especially Ben McKenzie. So Ben McKenzie playing a young Jim Gordon is pretty much exactly how I would have cast this series if I was in charge. Well, Fox and WB TV have released photos of some of the major players, including Jim Gordon, The Penguin, and a teenage Catwoman, giving us our first official glimpse at the noir-ish world they are creating with this latest twist on the story of Batman.

Here’s our first look at the cast in character:

Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock

Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon

Robin Taylor Lord as Oswald Cobblebot (aka The Penguin)

Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth

Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman)

In case you haven’t heard, “Gotham” is a Batman prequel/origin story of sorts that focuses on the life of a young Jim Gordon, just starting his career as a police detective in the city of Gotham, pre-Batman. Jada Pinkett-Smith has also been cast as villainous nightclub owner, Fish Mooney, but we still haven’t seen an official photo of her or “Touch” star David Mazouz, who will be playing a young Bruce Wayne on the series. “Gotham” is set to premiere next fall.
