First Poster Revealed For Pixar’s ‘Finding Dory’

By November 9, 2015

With the huge critical and commercial success of this summer’s Inside Out, it appears that the studio has gotten its groove back. While the release of The Good Dinosaur later this month will be the true test of a return to form, the studio is moving full steam ahead with their next set of releases.

Up next, Finding Dory, the sequel to 2003’s charming, Finding Nemo. The film, which is directed by Nemo’s Andrew Stanton, follows forgetful regal blue tang, Dory, as she searches for her family. The studio has released the first official poster for the film, which you can check out here:
finding-doryI’ve got to say, I absolutely love this! Sure, it’s not much, but really, deep down, it totally is. I love that they used her tagline, because it just so perfectly encapsulates her and her attitude. (And, it’s a pretty good mantra for the rest of us, as well!) Finding Nemo is one of those films that I always forget how much I love, until I watch it again. It gets lost in the Pixar pantheon, because it isn’t, well, Toy Story. Which is really too bad, because it’s such a beautifully crafted film, with a really heartwarming story at it’s core.

I am looking forward this sequel, because I totally want to know more about Dory. She was a big reason that the first film was so successful, and I have no doubt that Pixar has something special planned for her. That and the voice cast, which includes Ellen DeGeneres, Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Ed O’Neill, and Ty Burrell, leads me to believe, this will be an awesome time at the movies. As long as we just keep swimming.

Finding Dory is set for release on June 17, 2016.
