Game Of Thrones’ King In The North Is Now A Disney Prince

Game Of Thrones‘ Robb Stark as Prince Charming in a live action version of Disney’s Cinderella directed by Kenneth Branagh.

You heard me.

Yeah, that’s hot.

Richard Madden, known to fans around the world as Robb Stark, a.k.a. King in the North on the HBO hit series Game Of Thrones is now Prince Charming in Disney’s live action version of Cinderella.

With Downton Abbey‘s Lily James (above) in the title role, Cate Blanchett (Lord Of The Rings) as her evil stepmother Lady Tremaine, script by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada) and directed by Kenneth Branagh (an actor famously known for bringing Shakespeare’s classic plays like Henry V to the big screen), anything goes, really.

The idea came about when producer Simon Kinberg (one of the men who’ll be writing one of the upcoming standalone Star Wars films) and pal McKenna devised a plan to bring this classic animated film into the live action arena.

In a recent interview with Hero Complex, Kinsberg said he and McKenna were “thinking of titles and characters that we hadn’t really seen done in a modern, live-action way, and we were kind of stunned that Cinderella hasn’t really been done that way, as a traditional, loyal telling of the story. She’s a great, iconic character, a character that I loved when I was a kid, and I loved the Disney animated movie. It’s just an identifiable, very rootable underdog story.”

With all the pain and tragedy trying to do what is right (like his late father, Ned) we see Robb Stark go through in GoT, it’ll be nice to see the ACTOR Richard Madden play a prince whose only real issue is finding the mystery girl who fits the slipper. But then again, with Branagh directing, we may get some dramatic Shakespeare-like elements in there for good measure.

And maybe, just maybe we’ll see those Cinderella-inspired glass slippers created last year by Christian Louboutin on the big screen as well…
