‘Game of Thrones’ Season Six Featurette Teases Big Action Sequences & Some Interesting Flashbacks

By February 29, 2016

HBO is set to premiere their sixth season of Game of Thrones at the end of next month, and with it, will hopefully come a lot of answers to some seriously burning questions left over from last year’s fifth season. With the return of some familiar faces this season though, and the series moving farther and farther ahead into unknown, unwritten territory as well, things could get real crazy this time around.

A new featurette for the upcoming season has been released earlier today as well, and while it mostly focuses on the show’s cameramen and production techniques, there are some brief glimpses at the season’s newest action sequences, and maybe some new flashbacks?

Check it out below:

Packed throughout are some some teases at the return to the House of Black and White, with those creepy face-peeling methods that we were introduced to last season, and is that a Dothraki army I see as well? We see Dany walking around briefly through the same terrain we saw her stranded in at the end of season five, and let’s face it, any return to the Dothraki culture onscreen will be a good one. Right?

What’s maybe the most interesting moment though is when we briefly see two small boys fighting each other with wooden swords and shields in what looks to be Winterfell. After Isaac Hempstead-Wright’s comments about Bran’s flashbacks this season, is it possible that Bran could be going back in time briefly, and could those two boys possibly be the previously rumored kid versions of Ned and Benjen Stark? There’s no way to know for sure, but if so, then it looks like season six may bring us some new backstory behind the ruling families of Westeros, which is an exciting prospect. To say the least.

Game of Thrones season 6 will premiere on April 24th on HBO.
