‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Gives the Team a Cool New Set of Wheels With the Ecto-2

By February 11, 2016

I have not held back on my skepticism towards Paul Feig’s upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, and as someone who loves the original Ghostbusters film more than most, it’s been hard for me to imagine anyone other than the original team leading the franchise forwards. However, whether I like it or not, the film is coming and I’ll give them this – it certainly looks like they’re embracing the campiness of the property with open arms.

A new image from the film has been revealed to, showing one of the differences and ways that Feig and his team are planning on continuing and building off of the mythology created in the previous films.

Ladies and gents, check out the Ecto-2:

Yeah, I’ll be honest, that looks pretty damn awesome.

If Hollywood is planning on rebooting a beloved franchise like Ghostbusters, then these are the kinds of thematic continuations and growths that I want to see more of. As of right now, the film just looks like a silly action comedy, and I’m still waiting for some kind of indication that it will have the same tone and comedy as the original films, other than just the costumes that the posters and images have been flaunting around.

Depending on how well it manages to balance being a Ghostbusters movie, and not just another Paul Feig summer comedy with Melissa McCarthy, the Ghostbusters reboot may win me over just yet. Even if it is with an immense amount of reluctance on my part.

The Ghostbusters reboot is set to hit theatres on July 15th.
