Steven Tyler Campaigning For Role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’

By September 9, 2016

I suppose when you make Guardians of the Galaxy, one of the most critically-acclaimed and beloved comic book movies of all time, and fill both it and its sequel with iconic rock and pop music from the 1980s and 1970s, this sort of thing is bound to happen sooner or later isn’t it? Especially following the news that the late, great David Bowie was in talks to have a possible cameo in next year’s sequel as well, before his unfortunate passing.

Now, it looks like another iconic rock star and music legend has thrown his hat in the ring to have a cameo in the film’s third installment, which while it still hasn’t been announced, I think we can all just basically assume is going to be happening.

Speaking with People, none other than Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler revealed his love for the original Guardians film and expressed his desire to star in Guardians of the Galaxy 3:

“It made me want to do more movies for sure. I would do anything to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 – are you listening James Gunn?”

Now, Gunn may very well be listening, but the director and writer still isn’t sure if he’ll be returning for the third installment in the franchise yet, so he may not actually be the right person to talk to about starring in it. With that being said though, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 isn’t going to have a shortage of 80s icons by any means, with both Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone starring in the film, so why not have Tyler appear, even in a cameo, in the third installment? It’s definitely not out of the realm of possibility by any means.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to hit theatres on May 5th, 2017.
