Halloween Season Begins This Weekend in Southern California

By August 6, 2014

For us, Halloween can’t arrive quickly enough. Fellow Halloween fans…rejoice! The Halloween season officially kicks off this weekend (August 9th and 10th) with ScareLA, Los Angeles’ first convention dedicated to Halloween. ScareLA’s own website boasts that “the weekend-long Halloween season teaser will celebrate California’s hottest scary faire with attraction unveils, workshops and classes, top industry panels, haunt experiences, screenings and activities.” The convention hosts a myriad of panels that are sure to get you geared up for Halloween. The people behind Knott’s Scary Farm, Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, and Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights will all be offering special glimpses of what is to come this season.

With ScareLA will also come the start of GeekNation’s own series chronicling Halloween events from next weekend all the way until Halloween. Haunt fans can look forward to updates, photos, and reviews of the best and worst of what Los Angeles has to offer this season. You can look forward to coverage of everything from top-of-the-line attractions such as Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights and Delusion: Lies Within to family-friendly events like Pierce College’s annual Halloween pumpkin patch and Disneyland’s Mickey’s Halloween Party. From horrifying to kid-friendly, GeekNation will become your go-to source for Halloween attraction reviews this season. What are some of your favorite annual Halloween events in Southern California? Have your own haunt that you think should be reviewed? Write in with suggestions and recommendations in the comments below!
