Personally, I don’t really like covering stuff like this because I’d much rather not know anything about a big movie like this before I see it. But I know there are those of you who can’t get enough of this kind of information, so just know that I’m taking the bullet for you guys on spoiler articles like this. In case the headline wasn’t obvious enough, I just want to be 100% clear that this article will spoil Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Still with me? OK then. My friends at GeekTyrant received a scoop from someone who worked for ten days as an extra on the set of Dawn of Justice, and that person has revealed a major part of Lex Luthor’s plan. First, though, let’s find out when the movie picks up. Their source says it will begin “as the battle between Superman and General Zod ends or is ending (which would explain all the damaged buildings and vehicles we’ve been seeing in photos) and Batman/Bruce Wayne is attempting to make his way to the Wayne tower in Metropolis.” Makes sense. In the footage and photos we’ve seen so far, there has been a ton of wreckage and a giant Wayne Tower sign on the ground, so that part seems to check out. But what about Luthor’s plan? This is where things get crazy.
According to the extra, the ending of the film has already been filmed. One of the scenes shot featured Batman breaking into Lexcorp to steal kryptonite, and apparently Lexcorp had somehow gotten ahold of General Zod’s body.
Whoa. Devin at Badass Digest independently confirmed this part of the scoop, heavily implying that Luthor uses Zod’s tissue to create Doomsday, the being that famously “killed” Superman in the comics. Seems like Batman v Superman is going to get even darker than Man of Steel. I do like the idea of the film opening as the previous movie is ending, though, and I wonder if we’ll see some flashbacks to Jesse Eisenberg’s Luthor (did you remember that he’s playing the bad guy?) reacting to other events depicted in the first movie.
What do you think? Sound like a good plan for Luthor? Do you think Dawn of Justice will actually feature the death of Superman, or will they save that for the Justice League film?
