While Hulu is currently busy promoting their new Stephen King adaptation, 11.22.63, the streaming service has just released a new full trailer for The Path. Starring Aaron Paul, Hugh Dancy, Michelle Monaghan, and more, the series is one of the most interesting and mysterious new shows of 2016 from the looks of it, and with Paul coming off of his run on Breaking Bad and Dancy just finishing(?) Hannibal last year (two of the best TV shows… ever) - The Path looks like a highly-interesting follow-up from both actors.
The series follows a family who becomes involved in seemingly harmless cult, but as more and more secrets behind the movement are revealed, the family are forced to deal with their own faith, and decide what they’re willing to do and how far they’re willing to go for what they believe in.
The new trailer for the series is pretty breathtaking considering it shows you quite a lot while simultaneously keeping its story vague. The performances look predictably incredible as well, and if you’re into some seriously psychological and strange dramas, then it looks like The Path might be for you:
Here’s the series’ official synopsis as well:
“Hulu Original series The Path is a new drama from executive producer Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood). The Path follows a family at the center of a controversial cult movement as they struggle with relationships, faith, and power. Each episode takes an in-depth look at the gravitational pull of belief and what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want. The Path comes to Hulu from Universal Television and Jason Katims’ True Jack Productions and was created by Jessica Goldberg who will write and executive- produce the series, along with Katims and Michelle Lee of True Jack Productions. The 10-episode series stars Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan and Hugh Dancy.”
As Hulu comes out with more and more original series, with several notable additions last year alone, The Path looks like one of their most unique and intellectually complex shows yet. Executive produced by Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood) and featuring one of the best casts on television right now as well, if The Path isn’t already on your radar, then you might want to put it there soon because from the looks of it – you might not want to miss this.
The Path will premiere on Hulu on March 30th.
