J.J. Abrams Shares Kylo Ren’s Thinking Before …

If you are one of those fans who felt that Han Solo’s final act in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens was one of total failure, director J.J. Abrams might be able to provide a little solace.

Oh, and if you don’t know what we’re talking about because you are one of five people who haven’t seen The Force Awakens yet, then please stop reading right now and boggle your mind over whether HBO would actually cross over Westworld and Game of Thrones.

abrams102016Anyway, Abrams has provided some DVD commentary on the upcoming 3-D collector’s edition release of The Force Awakens, according to USA Today, where he provides some insight on what might have been going through Kylo Ren’s (Adam Driver) mind as he faced off with Harrison Ford’s Solo.

“Kylo Ren in this moment is actually being convinced to walk away from this.”

And while Solo’s claims that super-hologram Snoke is simply using him because of his heritage might not win Ren over, they still leave an impact. It’s just too little too late, unfortunately.

“Deep down, he’s gone too far.”

Abrams also felt that if Solo was going to chat with his son, he might have thought about choosing a better venue. Especially after what happened when his friend Luke Skywalker had a bad run-in with his father on a platform so high, even Darth Vader’s nose was bleeding.

“Obviously any time two characters in Star Wars go out on an incredibly thin bridge 10 miles above the ground with no railings, it’s not going to end well with one of them.”

The DVD collection hits store shelves in the United States just in time for the holiday shopping season Nov. 15, but everywhere else in the world on Oct. 31.

The next Star Wars movie, Rogue One, is due in theaters Dec. 16. However, the continuation of Kylo Ren’s story won’t find a movie screen until Dec. 15, 2017.
