Kim Raver Returning for Fox’s ’24: Live Another Day’ Limited Series

24: Live Another Day - Kim Raver

At the beginning of August, we learned that Mary Lynn Rajskub would reprise her role as Chloe O’Brian in “24: Live Another Day” the limited series return of Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer on Fox. But it turns out she won’t be the only returning character.

TV Line has word that Kim Raver, who starred on the Fox action series from Season 4 through Season 6, will reprise her role as Audrey Raines. Audrey was a love interest for Bauer, but her time in his life came to an end after she was left in more than a bit of a daze after being tortured physically and psychologically (by way of mind-altering drugs) by the Chinese. Following this tragedy, her father (then-Secretary of Defense James Heller, played by the always-excellent William Devane) forbid Bauer from being a part of his daughter’s life any longer.

The source points out that following her exit from the series, executive producer Howard Gordon said, “Audrey is so not dead. She’s not even in a coma. In my opinion, she is at the very worst in a psychiatric facility, but she may also be married to a contractor in Virginia who has a child.”

Kim Raver - 24

Raver must be playing a pretty important role in the series since she’s only the third returning character alongside series regulars Rajskub and Sutherland. There have been whispers that Elisha Cuthbert may return as Bauer’s daughter Kim, but even though her ABC comedy “Happy Endings” has been cancelled – presumably freeing up the actress’s schedule – we haven’t heard confirmation about her return to “24.” The 12-episode series will air in the spring of 2014, and Fox’s president Kevin Reilly has said the new season is basically, “24 compressed over 12 weeks. It will go chronologically over the day, but it will skip hours.”

We’re still not sure of the plot, but hopefully with spring 2014 getting closer, we’ll have more details soon. Is there a chance we’ll see more returning characters down the road? Stay tuned.
