‘LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens’ Announced With Hilarious Trailer!

By February 2, 2016

Oh come on!!!

See, I’m usually against a shot for shot remakes of trailers but this one for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is freaking hilarious! Each shot of the original trailer for Episode VII is parodied to a ‘T’ here – and it’s charming as all hell. It reeks of great comedy each LEGO Star Wars entry has provided over the years… And I for one will be lining up to purchase the game when it hits shelves June 28th, 2016 on PS4/3, VITA, Xbox One/360, WiiU, 3DS, and even PC!!!.

It hard not to get pumped up about this, since playing as Rey and Finn has been limited to Disney Infinity. Just check out this excerpt from the official synopsis (via STARWARS.com):

“LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will feature new gameplay mechanics to build, battle, and fly through the galaxy like never before, and also offer new story content exploring the time period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, adding additional insight into the movie and its characters.”

Look at the laundry list of goodies in this game:

“The film’s cast of new and classic heroes and villains — including Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Han Solo, Chewbacca, BB-8, Kylo Ren, General Hux, Captain Phasma, and more — await gamers, as do the movie’s exciting locales, such as Jakku and Starkiller Base.”

Now I know some fans will say “why couldn’t EA get this sweet deal for Battlefront?” The answer probably lies within the fact that parodies may not necessarily be cannon. Don’t quote me on that though. I’ll let the canon gods of John Rocha and Mark Reilly expound on that on Far Far Away. For now, we Star Wars fans shall rejoice in the hilarity that is this LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer.
