The Hobbit 2

In case you just can’t wait to return to Middle Earth, Warner Bros. has released nearly 45 minutes of Howard Shore’s score for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug online for all to hear. Shore’s work has been consistently amazing throughout Jackson’s original trilogy and was one of the best parts of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and if Warner Bros. insists on stretching one book out into three movies, at least we know that we’ll get three movies’ worth of terrific music from an extremely talented composer.

Check it out below:

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hits theaters on December 13, 2013. Thanks to /Film for the find, and thanks to Empire for the image at the top of the page.
