‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Chase Scene Recreated With Go Karts & Paintball Guns

Mad Max Fury Road

Mad Max: Fury Road has been embraced by audiences all over the world as being one of the best summer blockbusters to hit theatres the past few years. The film’s action sequences, in particular, have been praised for their sheer amount of practical effects, the locations they were shot in, and the kinds of stunts George Miller and his crew were able to pull off in front of the camera.

Which is what makes this new, fan recreation even more awesome. Videos pop up pretty frequently online showing new fan films for Star Wars or the latest big summer blockbuster, and they’re all pretty good in their own right (for the most part). But leaving Fury Road, I would never have expected to see a fan recreation of any of the scenes from that film, and I guess I was wrong.

YouTuber DevinSuperTramp and his friends recently shot a new version of one of the main chase sequences featured in Mad Max: Fury Road. However, instead of full on dune buggies and guns, these guys replaced them with go-karts and paintball guns. Sponsored by WB Games in promotion of the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road video game, they released this video, and it’s pretty damn great, in my not-so-humble opinion.

Check it out below:

Of course, it doesn’t get as big or crazy as the actual sequences in the film, and the lack of a fire-shooting guitar player is slightly disappointing, but the twist with the go-karts and the way the video was directed alone is commendable. This is easily one of the better fan films or recreations I’ve seen online in a long time. Plus, it just looks like they had a ton of fun making it, doesn’t it?
