Manu Bennett Teases Deathstroke’s Return on ‘Arrow’

By September 27, 2016

The upcoming fifth season of Arrow promises to bring a lot of things full circle for the show, not only including bringing a close to the story of Oliver’s five year exile from his home, but also bringing in new villains directly related to Oliver’s previous actions in the first few seasons of the series. It looks like it’ll also feature the return of the show’s best villain to date as well, something fans have been asking for ever since his anti-climactic, brief return in the third season.

We’re of course talking about Manu Bennett’s Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, who Stephen Amell recently posted a photo with from set, seemingly confirming the actor and character’s return in the new season. As you can probably guess, it didn’t take very long for Bennett to respond in his own cheeky way to the announcement either.

Taking to Facebook, Bennett posted a meme version of the image with Amell, featuring Oliver Queen asking Slade why he’s returned, only for the villain to promptly cut his foe’s head off:

Of course, Bennett didn’t reveal any official details regarding Slade’s return in the new season, though the general consensus seems to be that he’ll return in the show’s highly-anticipated 100th episode.

Last we saw of Slade, he was imprisoned upon the island of Lian Yu, so seeing how he escapes and comes back to wreak havoc upon Oliver’s life should be interesting to see, and hopefully, a more fulfilling return than when he was reduced to a plot device so Thea Queen (Willa Holland) could learn to fight better. If you’re going to bring things full circle for Oliver Queen as well, you can’t really do it without bringing Slade Wilson back.

Season 5 of Arrow will premiere on the CW on Wednesday, October 5th.
