Although we’ve known that it’s coming in 2015 for awhile, we’ve never really had an idea of what the aesthetic for the Marvel Studios and Netflix original series “Daredevil” was going to be, but with the New York Comic Con happening right now in the Big Apple, we now have our first taste of what the new series will look like. If we can judge from a single image, it looks like the creators are going for the trademark grit of some of the most renowned comic book runs with the character. Check out the concept art poster for “Marvel’s Daredevil” below, released online directly from Marvel!
The concept art, drawn by Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer and former editor-in-chief Joe Quesada (who was also the artist on a run of the Daredevil comic book series with Kevin Smith), gives us our first glimpse at what the hero of the series will look like when the show releases its full first season next year. The show also now has a placeholder page on Netflix‘s actual website and can be saved to subscribers’ lists, which also includes a short synopsis of the series. It reads,
“Marvel’s Daredevil” is a live action series that follows the journey of attorney Matt Murdock, who in a tragic accident was blinded as a boy but imbued with extraordinary senses. Murdock sets up practice in his old neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen, New York where he now fights against injustice as a respected lawyer by day and masked vigilante at night.
UPDATED: Marvel has also just released the first official photos from the series featuring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, including one of him in his first costume as depicted in the concept art above, which is inspired by the origin mini-series Daredevil: The Man Without Fear by Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr. Check them out below:
