Miramax Launches New Tarantino Website

By November 21, 2012

We’re roughly a month away from the theatrical release of the much anticipated new Western, Django Unchained.

If the trailer above or the fancy website for the film doesn’t whet your appetites enough, the brilliant folks at Miramax have just launched a cool little website of their own celebrating the man, the myth, the legend: Quentin Tarantino.

Tarantinoxx.com commemorates the first 20 years of Quentin Tarantino’s groundbreaking film making career. Scrolling through the site, visitors are treated to a timeline of Tarantino’s work over the past two decades.

This new online entity also shares its name with an amazing new Blu Ray set presented by Miramax and Lionsgate! Appropriately titled Tarantino XX, the 10 disc set contains eight films chosen by Mr. Tarantino himself to illustrate the first 20 years of his awesome career, including Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Death Proof and Inglourious Basterds.

To round out this mindsplosively amazing set, Tarantino XX-8-Film Collection also contains two discs with five hours (FIVE!) of all-new bonus material, highlighted by a retrospective on Tarantino’s groundbreaking catalog of films and “20 Years Of Filmmaking” that features interviews with critics, actors and other masters of the cinematic craft.

And I’d be a fool if I didn’t mention the amazing artwork by MONDO exhibited throughout this collection of fantastic films.

The timing for this box set release is perfect for anyone who wants to get their Christmas and Hannukah shopping (ahem) done early. Damn, this simply is a great gift for that crazy cinefile (ahem) in your life who just won’t stop quoting movies! What?! You’ll never understand me, Mom!

I’m sorry to say I’m not quite done blathering on about the man! Let me take you on a little journey back in time…

The year was 1992 and I was a Junior in High School. Kriss Kross was making all the kids jump, Bill Clinton was on the verge of becoming President and Quentin Tarantino was about to make the jump from video store clerk to movie director. It was 1992 and Mr. Tarantino soon amazed critics and and re-defined cinema with the release of Reservoir Dogs.

Now it’s 2012 and In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of what Empire Magazine has called “the greatest independent film of all time”, NCM Fathom Events, Miramax and IGN are bringing the film that started his career (Reservoir Dogs) along with the one that cemented it (Pulp Fiction) back to big screens all across the country for a special two day event (Dec. 4th and 6th)!

For those of you who haven’t ever experienced these films in a movie theater, now is your chance! Check the website here for theater location and showtimes!

Just take my word and go view these films where they were meant to be seen! You don’t want to make Mr. Blonde angry!
