New Look at ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Offers First Glimpse at The Film’s Lead Romance

By September 1, 2016

Following the first images from the upcoming featurette on the Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary Blu Ray, which gave us our first look at the movie’s version of Cogsworth and Lumiere, Gaston, and The Beast, Disney has officially released a sneak peek from the blu ray’s featurette, which offers some new insight into next year’s highly-anticipated reimagining of the classic animated film.

This time around as well, we’re getting a brief glimpse at the lead romance between Emma Watson’s Belle and Dan Stevens’ Beast at the film’s cast table read, where they have a bit of small banter about… books, and it’s kind of awesome for any fans of the original 90s film out there (myself included).

Check out the sneak peek below:

Up until this point, none of Disney’s live-action reimaginings have had the amount of hype behind them that Beauty and the Beast does right now, after the initial teaser trailer broke online records when it was first released, in addition to boasting a cast so good you’ll have to be pinched to make sure you didn’t come up with it in your head. It’s also set to be the first of Disney’s live-action adaptations that will also be a full blown musical like its predecessor as well, after both Pete’s Dragon and The Jungle Book (mostly) threw out their previous musical roots.

Right now, Beauty and the Beast looks gorgeous though, so it’s not hard to see why the anticipation for it is so high at this point. Now, we’ll just have to wait and see what else the upcoming featurette has in store for fans, after this brief, but exciting teaser.

Beauty and the Beast is set to hit theatres on March 17th, 2017.
