New Pottermore Quiz Finally Lets ‘Harry Potter’ Fans Find Out What Their Patronus Is

Earlier this year, in anticipation of the theatrical release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in November, Pottermore released the official sorting quiz for Ilvermorny, the American Wizarding School introduced to fans by J.K. Rowling. In addition to the Hogwarts Sorting Quiz that had existed there from the beginning, the Ilvermorny quiz allowed Harry Potter fans to understand not only their place in the British Wizarding World, but in the American Wizarding Culture as well.

Now, after waiting and waiting, the site has added yet another sorting-esque quiz as well, that will finally give fans the answer to one of the many Potter-related questions they’ve been asking themselves for years: what would your Patronus be?

You can take the quiz by clicking here, but for those of you out there that might not remember exactly what the Patronus Charm is or does, here’s the site’s brief rundown/explanation of the infamous Potter spell:

“The Patronus is a form of advanced magic, which even the most qualified wizards can struggle with. Harry Potter is one of the youngest wizards to cast a corporeal Patronus, having been taught by Professor Lupin at the tender age of thirteen.”

Described as a“guardian which acts as a shield between you and the Dementor,” the site continues:

“It’s also ‘a kind of positive force, a projection of the very things that the Dementor feeds upon – hope, happiness, the desire to survive – but it cannot feel despair, as real humans can, so the Dementors can’t hurt it.”

The quiz itself is easily the most elaborate on the site, and also the shortest, taking the user through a tour of the dark woods that look like they’re the same ones surrounding Hogwarts in Prisoner of Azkaban, where Harry first cast his full Patronus Charm, to save Sirius from the Dementors’ kiss.

For the record, I got a fox by the way. I think that’s a good thing.
