New ‘The Force Awakens’ Character Poster Features Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron

By December 5, 2015

You know, I’m starting to think this Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens thing might be kind of successful. Call it a hunch. Really going out on a limb here, I know.

As the countdown to FA Day continues (13 days! 13 days!), so does the media promotion. Instead of releasing the 9,427th trailer for the film, today the fine folks in charge of the official Star Wars Twitter account gave us something nice and simple: a new character poster featuring Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). Check it out!

That’s a good looking man.

I also like how they just casually dropped the whole “Black Leader” thing on us. That’s right, Dameron’s not just any ol’ X-wing pilot, he’s a full-fledge squad leader! I know Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren are getting the most pub (as far as the new characters go), but I’m really looking forward to seeing how Dameron fits into all of this. I mean, you don’t give Oscar Isaac a throwaway role. This dude’s important, and now that we know his rank, he just got even more interesting.

Again…13 days.

Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens opens everywhere on December 18th. Do you have your tickets yet?
