New York Comic-Con 2016 Will Be Stan Lee’s Last Appearance

By May 19, 2016

Some sad news has arrived for all of you east coast True Believers out there…

Perhaps one of the biggest reasons that we have fan conventions in general, Stan Lee will be making his last appearance at New York Comic-Con ever this year, the convention announced recently on their site. There’s no official reason why Lee has marked this year to be his last for the convention, though since the man is now 93 years old, I imagine traveling every year across the country to New York may sound a bit less appealing the older he gets.

The legend did recently reveal earlier this year that other than his eyesight and his hearing, he is in otherwise good health condition though, so we can let out a breath of relief there for the time being.

After putting an end to European convention appearances in 2014, and making this year his final trip to Canada for conventions as well, this doesn’t come as that much of a shock though, as it looks like Stan Lee is trying to trim down his travel and flight time every year. For all of you west coast fans out there though, rest easy, as it doesn’t look like he won’t be cutting off his Californian appearances any time soon, since he’s based out here anyways.

For those of you New York fans out there though, you might want to make it a priority to attend this year’s comic-con, because as it turns out, it may be your last chance to ever see Stan Lee in person. As strange of a thought as that may be.

Meanwhile, for those of you around this weekend, Lee will be making an appearance Planet Comicon in Kansas City. Keep your eyes peeled and you may see some of the GeekNation team members there as well!
