X-Men: Apocalypse is quickly shaping up to be one of the most anticipated movies of next year. From the awesome trailer to this kickass concept art to the fact that it both wraps up this current trilogy while setting the stage for future X-Men films, expectations are very, very high.
One of the most intriguing aspects of the film is that Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen are mostly different from the ones in the comics. Sure, Archangel is there, but the inclusion of Storm, Psylocke, and Magneto is a new and exciting direction for the film to take. Olivia Munn is certainly excited about her role in the film, as evidenced by her recent Instagram post. Not only does she give us a great new pic of herself in character…
But she also gives us a brief insight into Psylocke’s character:
“Getting to play #Psylocke in #xmenapocalypse. She’s a telekinetic psychopath who chooses to kill with a sword because she wants to do it up close and intimate and killing from afar just seems too easy and no fun,”
First off, I love how faithful to the comics Psylocke’s costume is. Secondly, she definitely sounds like someone who’d make a great Horseman, doesn’t she? I’d say a “telekinetic psychopath” who likes to get stabby sounds like someone Apocalypse would definitely want on his team. To cap off this trilogy, it’s clear Singer wants to put the X-Men up against the biggest challenge they’ve ever faced. Having to go up against Apocalypse, Magneto, Storm, Archangel, and Psylocke? Yeah…that should do it.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.
