Toy Story 4 is getting a lot more interesting. Thanks to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winner Patricia Arquette (Boyhood) is in talks to join the voice cast of the third sequel to the hugely successful Toy Story franchise.

The movie will see original director, and Disney/Pixar COO John Lasseter return to the franchise and that alone rekindles my interest in the project, even after the satisfying, seemingly final chapter in Toy Story 3. Which I love so much…

See, after the magic and heart string-pulling action that was Toy Story 3 many fans and movie buffs were satisfied and didn’t need/want a new movie. But then it made over 1 billion dollars in the world-wide box office. Another entry was almost a forgone conclusion.

With Lasseter back, and with someone as prestigious as Patricia Arquette joining the cast; not to mention the fact that Rashida Jones and Will McCormack are writing the script which is said to focus on the romance between Woody and Bo Peep, you have my interest. When has Pixar ever steered me wrong?

Per THR:

The actress will join the established Toy Story voice cast, which is lead by Tom Hanks and Tim Allen. Arquette will not be voicing an anthropomorphic toy, but will instead lend her voice a mom with a hippie-esque mentality.

No news yet on other cast members other than Hanks and Allen but I imagine Toy Story stalwarts Joan Cusak (Jessie) Wallace Shawn (Rex), Don Rickles (Mr. Potato Head) and John Ratzenberger (Hamm) will all be returning as last we saw, they were with Woody (Hanks) and Buzz (Allen) after being handed down from Andy to Bonnie.

Toy Story 4 is due out June 15, 2018.
