This week on KILLER POV, your hosts Rob Galluzzo (FEARnet), Rebekah McKendry (Fangoria) and Elric Kane (Inside Horror) welcome a very, very special guest: Savage Steve Holland! He’s the filmmaker behind Better Off Dead, One Crazy Summer, How I Got Into College, and the creator of “Eek! The Cat.” Although Savage has a background in comedy, he’s a huge horror fan & made for the ideal guest to talk about the thrill of hunting down horror titles! Among the latest movies discussed, the KILLER POV crew got to see both Big Ass Spider and Hatchet III. Rebekah’s vintage pick of the week is Pin: A Plastic Nightmare. And Rob G gives some “Sleepaway Camp 101” after having revisited Return To Sleepaway Camp. On top of other titles mentioned like The Other, Terror On Tour, and White Of The Eye, the gang also talk the new Friday The 13th and Halloween Blu-Ray releases and Freddy In’s fun Ben & Jerry’s style horror ice cream flavors. Sit back and join in on the fun!

Early comment as i only just started listening

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn!

That saying is part of my childhood, and I use it all the time, love it

I did not know Savage was such a horror fan, hes got the collectors bug like me, in the UK I go to car boot sales and markets where people sell old old or second hand stuff looking for rare videos or dvds,

I did not know Also Better off Dead was not an instant hit, that must be then now officially a cult film because it was originally a flop and now we’ve all seen it and love it

“I gotta go, the Christmas tree is on fire.”

    • He was such a great guest, and so nice and fun to chat with before the show. He had a big hand in what a lot of us loved about the 80’s!

So cool that you guys are good pals with Savage. I’ve been a fan since I saw Better Off Dead, in high school. From there I fell in love with stuff like Eek and How I Got Into College. He totally inspired me to get into film. Years later, I have my bachelors from NYU and I’m looking to start a bunch of animated pilots. I don’t know if you can show him this or not, but clearly, he had a TON of influence on my writing style and I owe him a giant debt of gratitude. Anyway, great podcast and you all seem like a very fun bunch! Fantastic chemistry!

        Keep it up!
